Sintra / Cascais / Estoril
Come meet Sintra, one of the most romantic villages of Portugal, located on the outskirts of Lisbon.
Come and see with your own eyes and get your own perspective of this place, which combines sea, mountains and monuments.
We start the circuit through the streets of this village and the Palácio Nacional de Sintra (National Palace of Sintra), also known by Palácio da Vila (Town Palace), which was one of the Royal Palaces and today the Portuguese State use them for tourism and cultural purposes.
We can also visit the Palácio Nacional da Pena (Pena National Palace), popularly named only by Palácio da Pena (Pena Palace), located at the top of the Serra de Sintra (Sintra Mountains), mixing different styles and is surrounded by a mantle of trees, as well as gardens, fountains, ponds, bridges, caves, greenhouses and small houses, which together make up the Parque da Pena (Pena Park).
We will pass by the Palácio de Seteais (Seteais Palace), today adapted to hotel, set on a landscaped site, towards Quinta da Regaleira (Regaleira Farm), whose main building is the Palácio da Regaleira (Palace of Regaleira), situated on the slopes of the Sintra Mountains. The farm consists of lush gardens and mysterious lakes, contributing to its mystery which is intensified by the constant fog of that region, and gives it a micro climate.
We conclude the visit to Sintra, with the trip to the town of Colares, where we can visit the most westerly point of Portugal as well as in the Continental Europe, Cabo da Roca. You can contemplate from here the Atlantic Ocean, which bathes our coast.
We continue to the village of Cascais situated along the coast where you can enjoy the sights and beaches. It is a fishing village where you can admire the Boca do Inferno (Hell’s mouth), a site that features numerous cavities and caves created by erosion exerted by the force of the sea and rains.
The visit to Cascais is concluded by the respective trip to the town of Estoril, where is located the largest casino in Europe, Casino Estoril, night entertainment venue.
